Over the past few years, the Product & Engineering organizations have grown steadily in headcount, and as the department continues to grow and evolve, we are committed to continually providing high quality software that helps educators address their most demanding challenges. 

 

Based on this growth, we are hiring immediately for an Engineering Manager to join our team. This person will play a strategically pivotal role in the ongoing evolution of Eduphoria’s Engineering organization, as well as for the company as a whole. An Engineering Manager at Eduphoria thrives in two distinct but related roles: as “team coach / delivery manager” and as “people manager”, helping Engineering team members grow in their career. This Engineering Manager will enable our teams to build upon the foundation we’ve built, while also helping to guide the future growth of our offerings & teams. The position reports to the Director of Engineering. 

 

Essential Functions/Responsibilities:

  • Coaches multiple project “Build Teams” in developing & delivering new features & product improvements during 6-week build cycles. Manage the delivery of the product to include coaching, resolving escalations, technical guidance and fostering decision making.
  • Helps Engineering Team Members identify, diagnose, and resolve day-to-day challenges. Address interpersonal or technical conflicts within the team quickly and constructively, maintaining a positive work atmosphere. 
  • Coaches direct reports in identifying, committing to, and achieving individual goals that grow their career as well as benefit the team, department, and/or company
  • Gathers & provides consistent feedback & guidance to Engineering Team Members on behavior & performance. This includes goal setting, performance management, career development and mentoring.
  • Helps Team Members develop & strengthen key skills in the areas of decision-making, leadership, effective communication, emotional intelligence and personal growth goals.
  • Forecast your team growth by assessing gaps and growth areas across the teams. Onboard New Hires onboarded and to the point where they are delivering value on a team.
  • Helps teams ensure that risks associated with development activities are effectively identified, measured, monitored, and controlled.
  • Work closely with product managers, designers, and other departments to align engineering work with overall business objectives and customer needs.
